In July 2013, Ashoka U reached out to almost 1,000 institutions with the first Census for Social Innovation in Higher Education. Over 250 institutions from about 30 countries responded with institution-wide data on their social innovation classes, majors, minors, fellowships, accelerators, culture, staffing and more. Findings from the Census are available for the first time here at the Exchange, published in Ashoka U’s 2014 Trends in Social Innovation, and will be presented and discussed during this session.
Workshop themes will focus on curricular and co-curricular trends and building a campus-wide culture for social innovation, while delving deeper into effective strategies for faculty engagement, staffing and leadership structures that have worked at four different institutions that are part of the Changemaker Campus network.
