Associate Professor of Social Entrepreneurship & Business

I am an interdisciplinary economist focusing on gender and development issues, and worked with colleagues to develop the Social Entrepreneurship major and minor at my institution. I teach about ways that social entrepreneurship can create change with regard to key development issues such as poverty, hunger, education, health, and inequality. I love to consider diverse paths for pedagogical design and redesign to support social innovation across the curriculum. A lot of my research focuses on female entrepreneurship in Asia, including social entrepreneurship and microfinance, and my interests include policy and program design to improve upward mobility for women participating in these endeavors.

This is my third time at the Exchange and I love to learn about ways to incorporate experiential learning and design thinking into social innovation education. I am also happy to share my own experiences in curriculum design. So whether you would like to talk about research, teaching, or program design, I'd love to chat with you!
